She was born in Preston, Idaho, 3 May 1918, to Hyrum Wilford Christensen and Lola Maren Jensen. She met her husband-to-be, Darwin Howard Jepsen in Wendell, and they were married 6 June 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. Their life of adventure together was spent in Soda Springs, Idaho; Miami, Arizona; Logan, Utah; Denver, Colorado; Amarillo, Texas; Billings, Montana; Beirut, Lebanon; Carmichael, California; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; the Canal Zone, Panama; Bangkok, Thailand, with a final move to Boise in 1971. While in Boise, she and Darwin served in the Boise Idaho Temple, and completed two missions, the first to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and the second to Missouri.Erma valued education; as a student she was the spelling champion of Gooding County for three years, and received certificates for perfect attendance for six years.
