Welcome! - About Us

Darrell Hansen is the curator and primary family history researcher for this site. He has a diverse ancestral background: he's half Danish and a mix of German, English, Irish, Scottish, and Manx. His rich heritage includes 19th-century pioneers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who traversed the plains, sailed from Denmark, or made their way to Utah via routes around Cape Horn at the southern tip of South America to California or by way of the transcontinental railroad. He also has many European ancestors who came to America before the American Revolution. He graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Computer Science degree and authors a blog MyFamilyConnections.org. His grandparents are John & Hannah Hansen and Reed & Maggie Jamison.

Rose Hansen, Darrell's wife, also has a diverse ancestry, including French, German, Scottish, English, Irish and, Jewish. Some of her family came to the United States from France by way of Canada. She too has many European ancestors that came to America before the American Revolution. She is a dedicated contributor to FamilySearch.org Indexing, having diligently transcribed over 100,000 names. Her expertise extends beyond genealogy and includes floristry, furniture restoration, painting, and interior design. As a passionate storyteller and avid collector of family photographs and histories, Rose is excited to preserve and share her research with future generations through a platform dedicated to her family's rich heritage. Her grandparents are Clifford & Magdalen Tucker and Albert & Ora Mae Brown.

Generations Linked in Love

...When our hearts turn to our ancestors, something changes inside us. We feel part of something greater than ourselves...
